All right. You're quantitative dataset or qualitative research has paid off. You have some results you think are worth writing about.
Easy-peasy, so get to writing.
This course provides a series of lectures, each on the do's and don't's of writing each section of your empirical research paper, be it your masters thesis, undergraduate honors thesis, course paper, dissertation proposal, or dissertation even. Specifically the course includes a thorough, "how to" lecture for each of the following topics:
- How to articulate a good research question
- How to find data with which to address a research question
- How to write a good introduction
- How to write a good literature review
- How to write about your research data and methods
- How to write about your research results
- How (and when) to discuss the theoretical and/or practical implications of your research results
- How to write a good conclusion
- How to write a good abstract
WHAT'S MORE, when you enroll in this course you will get *personal* and *regular* feedback from a professor on two drafts of each of these aspects of your research paper. And *fast.*
For example, after you have your first draft of your introduction, you will send it to your professor and she or he or they - specifically a she or he or they with a PhD in public policy or management and who teaches in public policy or management at the university level - will get back to you shortly with extensive comments and suggestions. Then they or he or she will do it all over again for the second draft of your introduction that includes your edits per your professor's first set of comments and suggestions.
That said, we highly recommend you incorporate all you learn from the lectures *prior* to submitting your first draft of each section. That way you get the most bang from your two comprehensive reviews of each section of your paper. Because of the intensive nature of the instruction, enrollment for this course is limited.

In the 10+ years since earning my doctorate in public policy from Georgia Tech, I've shepherded more than a thousand undergrad and grad students through their public policy and management coursework and exit requirements. I'm quite good at, and really enjoy, helping students to make those critical yet implicit connections between evaluation/research design, dataset development, analytic methods, and model specification. I'm also quite good at, and also really enjoy, helping students to see the forest for the trees and, in doing so, to dominate their coursework, comprehensive exams, exit requirements, and budding careers. I am a prolific academic writer, with more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles in top journals as well as 2 books and tens of book chapters, and numerous technical reports for government agencies, who has successfully and quickly and many times over turned bad paper (and thesis and article) writers into very good paper (and thesis and article) writers.
Currently, in addition to tutoring clients via this medium, I am funded by a research grant from the US National Science Foundation. In 2013 I received tenure from one of the largest research universities in the US and before that I was a consultant in Washington, DC.
